One should not only get initiated into the realm of social media but also focus on optimizing it which will in turn accentuate the benefits and yield revenue. All efforts in Social Media can broadly be categorized into three groups-
- CREATE
- MANAGE
- MONITOR
- CREATE: Create a customized Facebook page and include tabs relevant to your hotel and services.
1. Incorporating a tab for reservation and including a tab for the booking engine will help generate revenue and also direct traffic to the hotel’s website.
2. Have an active section of events to update fans and followers about events.
3. Discussion should be a feature of the Facebook page to increase user interface.
4. Special tabs should be created to promote deals and packages.
5. Photo uploads and relevant links should be used with regular posts.
6. Create destination blogs and cross link with updates to give additional insights.
- Create a Youtube Channel(it is the third largest search engine)
- Upload search optimized video about local attractions.
- Upload positive guest testimonials as it helps to enhance brand image.
- Create customized Twitter profile with hotel’s website and phone number in the background.
- Create a channel or an account on photo sharing sites such as Flickr and Picasa, and upload destination pictures as well as that of hotels. Tag the pictures with relevant keyword phrases. Pictures about the destination that convey information to potential viewers are more likely to produce better results.
